Art Frames

Art frames come in both basic and ornate styles. The ornate versions tend to be more traditional or antique options. Today, these modes of display can be used ironically or as a homage to past traditions. However, if this is done unintentionally, display of art through such a means is viewed as more decorative.

Simpler art frames are a more contemporary option. These are generally chosen as default in fine art galleries today. This is because they are meant to present a piece, but not overpower it.

Art frames may be made from many different materials. These include aluminum and metal frames as well as many wooden varieties. There are also plastic options. When it comes to the wooden varieties, there are plenty of choices for finishing their surfaces.
