Art Materials

Art materials include many supplies that have been created specifically for artistic purposes. These include such things as oil paints. They also include a variety of surfaces, such as stretcher-supported canvas or board.

Other art materials include multipurpose supplies. Pencils, scissors, and various adhesives are a good example of this. While such items were not created solely for artistic intents, they are commonly utilized by artists.

Finally, plenty of art materials have nothing to do with art in the first place. This is because many artists enjoy making use of everyday supplies. When these supplies remain recognizable within the finished piece, they are often referred to as "found objects."
