Call to Artists/Requests for Proposals

The Art Center stageCall to Artists for 2009-10
The Arts Center exhibition program

Deadline: April 28, postmarked

The Arts Center Exhibition Committee is seeking proposals for the exhibition program starting January 2009.

Each calendar year, The Arts Center’s Main Gallery features ten exhibits, some of which reoccur annually. These reoccurring themed exhibits are the da Vinci Days Festival sponsored exhibit on art, science and technology, the bi-annual Quilt County (2009 is a Quilt County year), the Around Oregon Annual, our Community OPEN and a Guild curated exhibit. The entire year program as well as the da Vinci Days Festival and Quilt County exhibit are open for submission. The Around Oregon Annual has a separate Call to Artists with a June 1 deadline (See 6th Around Oregon Annual).

We are interested in all media including installation work, but not performance art. The Exhibition Committee seeks a balanced exhibition year: a balance between media [painting, drawing, fiber, photography, printmaking, sculpture, etc.] large and small group shows, retrospectives and one person exhibits or installations. There is no submission fee.

It is The Arts Center’s goal to show work by local artists as well as to introduce work from artists of the larger Northwest area. The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to combine several artists that have submitted individually.

The Arts Center is located in downtown Corvallis in a late 19th C church building. The Gallery measures approx. 1200 sq feet, with 135’ of linear wall space. See images.
